In addition, I provide family therapy to promote the identification of problematic family roles, dynamics, expectations, and modes of communicating. In family counseling, the emphasis is on helping members to:
Become more conscious of your role in the system
Create healthier family roles
Improve communication of feelings and needs
Identify intergenerational patterns of family functioning and chose to be active about changing family history
Facilitate secure bonds between family members, where members experience one another as accessible and responsive
Being intentional about the type of family you want to create
Support one another’s strengths, growth, and differentiation
Bring balance back to the families lifestyle
Address parenting concerns in a non-judgmental setting
Build on the strengths and resources already present within your family system
“It is possible to be different and still be all right. There can be two––or more––
answers to the same question, and all can be right.”
